Steve Knox, the Branch Manager and a Mortgage Loan Originator at Knox Mortgage Team, has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry. His journey into the mortgage business was a natural progression from a successful career as a retail executive with companies like, American Eagle Outfitters and Eddie Bauer where he served as the Director of Management and Leadership Education for over 2000 stores in America, Canada, Germany, England and Japan.

After his retail career Steve founded Knox Management Strategies, a business consulting firm with a focus on filling interim executive roles, reorganizing businesses and nonprofits and then hiring his replacement. This job required non-stop travel and after 9/11 Steve reevaluated his goals to accommodate less travel and a focus on his growing family, so Steve entered the Mortgage business.

Steve’s past executive management and business consulting skills are perfectly suited for the complexities of the mortgage business and allow Steve to provide excellent service, communication and expertise in a simple straight forward manner for his clients.

Throughout his career Steve has been a community leader, serving in leadership positions on various community groups, booster clubs, and non-profits. Steve is a respected figure in his community, known for organizing the annual "Run of the Mill 5K" charity event held each summer in the Mill Creek Town Center for 13 years. Steve is now assisting in the transfer of that event to a new group to ensure it continues to support the community. The Run of the Mill raised over $300,000 for local charities.

Outside of his professional commitments, Steve enjoys playing golf, cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with his family, Wife, Heidi, and children Caleb, Aubrea, Russel and Ruby.

The Knox Mortgage Team was Initially branded as Columbia Funding Mortgage Inc with two flagship offices in Mill Creek, WA. CFM was later rebranded to have a less regional associated name reflecting the iconic Columbia River, to a name that would better define the business being in multiple locations and highlighting the individuals who make up the company.

Husband and wife team, Steve and Heidi Knox, along with their daughter Aubrea are “The Knox Mortgage Team”. The name change was made after the business expanded and opened an office in the Greystone area of Birmingham, Alabama. The Knox Mortgage Team also works out of an office in Everett, WA.

Personal: Heidi was born in Seattle and lived there until 2021 when she and her husband Steve purchased a second home in Hoover, AL. They now split time in WA and AL.

After a successful retail sales career in the bridal industry and at Nordstrom, Heidi joined Knox Mortgage Team. Her first position within the company was as our Marketing Manager and now as a Sales Manager and Loan Originator.

Heidi and Steve have four children Caleb, Aubrea, Russel and Ruby.

When not working, Heidi can be found taking care of the family, golfing or entertaining friends.

Aubrea McNamara is a graduate of The University of Oregon with degrees in Business and Marketing. After graduating college and an initial career in Human Resources, Aubrea joined her family in the mortgage business. She specializes in Residential Mortgage Loans and first-time home buyers. Aubrea works alongside her father Steve Knox, branch manager, and our extremely robust and experienced team.

Aubrea’s goal is to develop long-term working relationships with each one of my clients. She works hard to ensure every client has great experience through educating each client about the mortgage process and the options available to them.
