About Run of the Mill
The Mill Creek Run of the Mill 2022 is organized and run by AmCap. We also have a wonderful staff of volunteers who help make this charity event possible.
Steve Knox
Race Director
Steve is the Branch Manager of AmCap, located in the Mill Creek Town Center. He enjoys recreational running, and actively supports high school running programs as a founding member of the Jackson High Schaool Track and Cross Country Booster Club. He stepped in to organize and sponsor the Run of the Mill in 2006 when the previous organizer was ready to pass the torch. He solicited support from the running community, and with help from some amazing volunteers, the Run of the Mill took on a new life as a charitable event.
Eric Hruschka
Clerk of the Course
Eric, the 1984 WA high school Cross Country State Champion (Lynnwood High School) and a graduate of the University of Maryland, has been the Jackson High School Cross County and Track coach since the school opened in 1994. Eric teaches physical education at Gateway Middle School. Eric, his wife Allison, and their 4 children reside in Mukilteo, WA. Eric was the 2003 Seattle PI Cross Country Coach of the Year. Among Eric’s passions: love for his family, love of running, and helping kids achieve their potential in athletics, academics, and life.
Who Does Run of the Mill Support?
The Run of the Mill event donates all net proceeds to charity. The event organizer, AmCap, does not retain any profit from the event. Through this event we have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities and schools including programs that tend to have the least funding such as Jackson High School Track, Cross Country and Swimming, Glacier Peak Cross Country, Archbishop Murphy Swim Team, Lake Stevens High School Track and Cross Country, Mariner High School Track and Cross Country, Bishop Blanchet Swim Team, Boy Scouts of America, West Coast Aquatics, Lakewood High School Track and Cross Country, Washington State Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association. In additional about half of the funds from this event are donated to Providence Hospitals Linda Baltzell Cancer Patient Assistance Fund. The ROTM also hosts within the race the annual WA State East West Cross Country All Star race.
