KNOX MORTGAGE TEAM

Where We Lend

Different places.
Same phone number.

We’re a family mortgage team with two hometowns and clients in a lot more places than that. Here’s how that happened, and how it works for you.

Different locations, one community.

The Knox Mortgage Team started in the Seattle area. Over 23 years, the families we helped there did what American families do: they took jobs in Texas, retired to Arizona, bought a second place in Nevada, moved closer to grandchildren in Florida. When it came time for the next loan, they didn’t go looking for a new lender. They called the one they had.

So we followed them. We added licenses where our clients landed, and when our own family moved to Hoover, Alabama, we added that too. Today the team is licensed in 46 states, not because we set out to be a national lender, but because our clients kept moving and we kept picking up the phone.

That’s what we mean by one community. It isn’t a neighborhood. It’s the families who have trusted us with a home, wherever they happen to be living now, and the friends and family they send our way.

Two hometowns

When you’re in Hoover or Seattle, we’re not a phone number. We’re down the street. Aubrea and Steve live in Greystone and know the Birmingham market house by house; the Washington side of the team has been working the Puget Sound for more than two decades.

Second homes and relocations

A lot of our out-of-state loans are second homes and relocations, and both have rules that catch people by surprise. Second-home financing depends on how you’ll use the property and how far it is from your primary residence; an investment property that happens to be your favorite place to visit is still an investment property to an underwriter. A relocation loan often has to close before your first paycheck at the new job, which is fine if the file is structured for it from the start. We’ve done enough of both to tell you what will work before you make the offer.
